The students will be reading Two Bad Ants so beware that take-home-stories will be going home.  We will be reviewing cause and effect and learn about prepositional phrases in English class. 

Math
The week we will be introducing measurement.  Your students will be working with elapsed time, measuring to the nearest ¼ in, liquid volume, and units of mass.

Social Studies
Landforms test will be on Friday. Landform study guides will be sent home on Tuesday to help them on their test.

I will be having a sub May 20-June 4th.  I will be away tending to my new-born sun, Logan. Mrs. Montgomery will be subbing for me at this time.

We will be finishing up our tall tale unit.  The students are creating questions that will be on their test on Wednesday. The students will be reading Two Bad Ants so beware that take-home-stories will be going home.  We will be reviewing context clues in English class.

Map test on Wednesday/Thursday this week.  Next, my students will be starting their neighborhood maps project.  During this project your child will construct a 3-D neighborhood which includes symbols, map key, and compass rose and map scale.  They will also have to put streets and houses on their map by following the cardinal/intermediate direction given.

This week we will be drawing, classifying, and relating quadrilaterals to fractions and area.  Test will be on Friday.

Social Studies
Our concepts we will be learning this week are latitude and longitude coordinates along with scaling distances using map scales.  Please be aware that your child will be bringing home a study guide sometime this week for our upcoming map test.  The test is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday next week.

We are currently reading A Tree is Growing.  Please be aware sometime this week your child will bring home a take-home-story.  Our test will be on Thursday, the 23rd.  In language we will be covering compound words, verbs, and adverbs this week.  There will also be a tree project on Tuesday.
